Spread the love

In anticipation of its fortieth anniversary, Bridgend Writers’ Circle is running a short story competition open to anyone over the age of eighteen (who is not a member, or related to a member of BWC).

The competition is supported by Ty Newydd and Literature Wales,  Chapter Arts Centre, Seren Publishers and Lynne Jones of Artful Yoga in Maesteg.  Prizes are: a place on a course at Ty Newydd (worth £500) for first, a Chapter Arts Centre Silver Friends Membership and a set of ten signed New Mabinogion Stories from Seren Publishers for second, and a Chapter Arts Centre Silver Friends Membership and an evening at Chapter for third.

The theme of the competition is BRIDGES, which you can interpret as widely as you choose, whether physical or metaphorical. Stories should be 1,500-2,000 words. The entry fee is £5, or £7.50 for two.

Entries must be received by 30 November 2014.

Download an entry form and check out the full rules and conditions of entry on the BWC’s website.
